Welcome to Lesson One!

This course will take you through the basics of source and claim-checking, and introduce you to our "four moves", a series of actions to take when encountering claims and sources on the web.

The first lesson will introduce you to our basic approach — the "four moves" and the acronym we use to remember them: SIFT. While some exercises may seem repetitive, we recommend you complete them all, as the point is not just learning what fact-checking is, but building a fact-checking habit.
